Rotation Zay: Spoken Art
The Rotation segment will not just include reviews about music. We will also be covering other art forms that can be used to express creativity. One art form that I have a great appreciation for is spoken word poetry. No other art form can deliver the raw energy you feel while hearing someone speak rhyme and reason into reality. I have found that writing can be therapeutic and it can also be used as a way to teach. I’m drawn to poems that convey a message about how another person overcame a struggle. I feel like we can all learn from each other and by using spoken word as a platform, we can all grow together.
I look forward to getting the opportunity to meet more spoken word artists around the city. Until then, take a look at a rare time I talked myself out of my introverted shell and recited a couple of my life lessons.
