Funk For Momma

Mercedes "Mouse" Robinson

Born in the 80's and raised in the 90's, I grew up in a household where we listened to 2Pac, Coolio, LL Cool J, and then out of no where you hear AL Green, The Commodores, and the Whispers. With such a generational diversity in my musical upbringing, I have been introduced to music that some of the greatest producers sample from.

I even find myself playing a game of "Name That Sample" or "Who Sampled This" whenever one of these tunes grace the wavelengths. It's the music you hear at every family function. When big mama is on the grill and your drunk aunt is dancing off beat. So, to pay homage to the woman who helped sculpt my eclectic taste in music, this one is for my momma. Go on ahead and get your 2 step on, Momma Mouse.
